Peter Honeycombe began his career with Jones Lang Wootton’s Brisbane office in 1987 in commercial sales and leasing, specialising in CBD developments and new projects. Peter worked in Townsville with Jones Lang on several tourism and large commercial projects before joining the family firm of Honeycombes Property Group in 1991.Peter holds a Bachelor of Business degree with a Major in Marketing. He served six years as a Director on the Board of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Peter is also an open licensed general builder, real estate agent and an accredited Project Manager. For eight years, Peter was a Director of the publicly listed Mackay Permanent Building Society Limited. In 2005, Peter was awarded the Australian Institute of Management’s Queensland Business Person of the Year. He was a Director of Townsville Enterprise Limited, Townsville’s peak marketing and economic development body, for seven years, until May 2021.Peter is a Director of The College of Nations, a not-for-profit training and global humanitarian group associated with Youth With A Mission. He is also the Chair of The Good Shepherd Limited, Townsville’s largest not-for-profit nursing home.
