Coorparoo Square crowned best mixed use development by the Property Council of Australia

Coorparoo Square has taken home top honour in the category of Best Mixed Use Development at this year’s Innovation & Excellence Awards. The prestigious accolade was awarded to Honeycombes Property Group and Frasers Property Australia in May at the National Awards Gala Dinner held in Sydney.

Coorparoo Square is a $250 million mixed use joint venture between Honeycombes and Frasers which comprises of 366 residential apartments, resort style residential facilities and 6,500sqm of retail floor space. The landmark precinct has redefined the heritage rich suburb of Coorparoo through the urban renewal of what was previously Queensland’s first Myer building.

The Property Council of Australia, the industry body committed to shaping the future of communities and cities around Australia, awarded Coorparoo Square for its ‘innovation in a mixed use development completed in the previous five years and operating for at least one year as at 31 December 2018’. The hotly contested category saw five other state-of-the-art developments compete as finalists for the prestigious award including Meriton’s Altitude Paramatta, Cornerstone Property Group’s Griffith Teas in Surry Hills, Jewel in Wentworth Point from Payce and Sekisui House, HCAP Development’s Haven in Newstead and Lucent Gasworks in Newstead from Cavcorp.

 

“Given the standard of competition we were up against, we are incredibly humbled to have received this award and believe it is testament to the people and strategic partners we align ourselves with,” said Honeycombes Property Group Managing Director, Peter Honeycombe.

 

In addition to working alongside builders, Probuild; Honeycombes commissioned architecture firm, Conrad Gargett and planners; Place Design to deliver the award winning project.
