Responsible and effective environmental management remains paramount to Honeycombes Property Group.
We are committed to managing all of our developments in an environmentally sensitive and sustainable way. As the company seeks to adopt leading edge environmental standards for development sites, we do so with the input of important stakeholders such as local government and local communities with whom we work.
As with all of our projects, Honeycombes Property Group is very mindful of retaining the original natural integrity of the site and achieving optimal environmental outcomes.
At one of Honeycombes’ newest projects, Itara at Riverway, the residential buildings were designed to blend with the environment and built around existing trees where possible. In fact, Honeycombes Property Group worked with a team of professionals to relocate two 60 tonne raintrees to a nearby recreational area on the edge of the site, and implemented a compulsory tree induction for all contractors.
Itara was awarded the 2009 UDIA North Queensland Award for Excellence in Environmentally Sustainable Development.
Honeycombes are a consortia member of Solar Cities. The Australian Government Solar Cities Program is a partnership between all levels of government, industry, business and local communities to trial sustainable energy solutions.
